ACCGov has contracted with Mr. Charles Hardy to operate a sanctioned homeless encampment with his non-profit, the First Step. The encampment provides a legal, low-barrier location for homeless individuals to camp and connects residents with various services and resources. Our Programs
We offer a variety of programs to help our clients get back on their feet. From job training to mental health counseling, we provide the resources and support necessary to help individual their goals.
On December 17, 2022, Charles Hardy dedicated over 12 hours to facilitate the transfer of more than 50 homeless residents of 1st Step to Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Athens for the weekend due to inclement weather. This exemplary act of kindness demonstrated genuine care and concern for the well-being of others. The commendable support extended by Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Athens to both the staff and residents of 1st Step Inc. reflects a deep sense of compassion and respect. This thoughtful gesture is truly appreciated by 1st Step Inc., and it exemplifies the positive impact of genuine collaboration and support within the community.
